Confused

Hello beautiful souls. I have a question or “an issue” that’s kinda bothering me for a while. Me and my husband been married now for a couple of months, we have lately decided to buy some antique furniture and he picked up a nice dressoir for me saying this will be my wedding gift. We had agreed to share the cost since the amount of all the furniture was quite expensive and he earns the same I do. When I asked him about the total amount to put in my share I was surprised to see he included the dressoir. I mentioned that it was a gift for me as he said and then he kinda said: ok will remove it then from the cost. I felt that it’s a bit odd and won’t lie to say I did hurt me. I dont know how to explain exactly how i felt about it but I did not like it at all, especially that he is not stingy! Maybe the thought or reasoning behind it is that as everywomen I like my man to be generous with me

I dont know what to think or how to communicate that to him. Help me with your thoughts please !
