Pre-Seed and checking CM

This is my first cycle using Pre-Seed and I'm wondering if it makes it harder to judge CM. BD CD8 and was able to tell because cm was still really thick BD CD 11 didn't think to check before and now I can't tell at all. Could I just be using too much or is there a learning curve to it?
