What would you do?
I am going to get my IUD removed soon and my husband and I are excited to start the process of growing our family but there’s one problem...my mother. You see my mom is one of those people that insists her kids shouldn’t have kids until they’re in their 30s (I’m in my 20s). As much as this isn’t her decision and I have no problem just shrugging her opinions off I would really appreciate family support. Especially from my dad, he’s a doctor so I value his opinions on prenatals, supplements, and symptoms but if I cut my mom out of this area in my life (or even just talk back to her) my dad will take her side. Along with that if I were to even just text my dad asking for some prenatal vitamin recommendations I would later get a call from my mom most likely with anger, tears, and accusations.
What’s a gentle way that I could tell her I’ve made my decision and that i feel it’s the right time for my husband and I to ttc without ruining my relationship with her and my dad? I want to avoid excess contention but stand up for myself.
I know this is a bit of a rant but I really do just want to find a solution for this.
