Epidurals Are NOT As Painful As I Thought!

Just had our baby boy last night and I really wanted to share this fact with other community members- I had been petrified of the epidural for the entire pregnancy, for some reason it scared me more than maybe even birth (strange I know!) but I was so pleasently surprised! It was a super easy and fast procedure, I asked for an anesthesiologist (not a student resudent! Very important) and the whole ordeal took less than 5 minutes. The IV was actually more painful than the epidural (they also botched the first IV so had to try a second time) once you get the numbing lidocaine honestly I did not even feel it!
