Are work from home jobs to good to be true?

I am a full time student and have been looking into work from home jobs. I have 20 credits (it had to be specially approved). I work full time too and it's starting to effect my work. If I could work from home, I would save money on gas and time. My rent, car insurance, and payment is $1,000 all together. And I have about $500 in other expenses. If I cut down on driving, it'll be even less. But I feel like those jobs are not for average people. I also don't know what to look for. Data entry seems incredibly hard to find an actual real job. Everything seems like a scam. I don't know, I feel like it's just a dream to work from home but I really need to focus on my studies.
