How will you feed your baby?

Everyone is saying about baby led weaning! But I don’t think I like that method. So many moms are talking down on others for doing purees. I can tell my 4 month is ready to eat solids but you can’t do led weaning until 6 months. I think that’s way to long to wait to feed my baby. He’s interested in food all the time. Formula no longer keeps him full. He’s always hungry. I refuse to give him Cereal.  How does everyone feel about both?q

I think it’s now recommended for babies to wait until 6months so that their digestive system has time to develop. Introducing too early might lead to allergies and leaky gut! Either way, you do what you feel comfortable with :)

Our doctor gave us the go ahead to feed the twins purees. He checked their reflexes and everything first. Our son was ready a couple of weeks before his sister so we had to wait for her to catch up. But they’ve been wanting to eat since 3 months. I make all of their pureed food so I know what’s in it and that makes me feel better since I was going to wait until 6 months originally. I’m glad I didn’t because my daughter LOVES to eat. She knows when I sit her in her seat and put the bib on what time it is. She even yells at me if I don’t feed her fast enough 😂. Her brother on the other hand isn’t as thrilled as he thought he would be with food. He likes veggies a lot more then fruit we’ve noticed and hollers at me when I feed him though.
You just need to do what you feel is best and if your doctor has given you the go ahead then do whatever you feel comfortable with.

The whole point of BLW is letting baby eat at their own pace, it can take months for them to eat a “meal” but the main source of nutrition up until 1 yr should be breast milk or formula. 
We’re waiting until 6 months and then slowly will be introducing solids, also skipping rice cereal as it’s nutritionally empty.

There is a YouTuber (Natalie Bennett)  who talked about how she did her own version of Baby led weaning and still did purees. I was on the fence too and after listening to her I decided that I may do what she had done; although, she did wait until 6months.

I like the idea of baby led weaning. However my little one has so many intolerances, it would be hard to for me to pinpoint what she ate to cause a reaction (in any). Whereas the purées I can introduce one every few days.

There’s benefits to both, ultimately your the mum and if you feel like you want to do puréed foods then go for it! It doesn’t matter what anyone else’s opinion is 😊
