My high school banned the national anthem

I go to California high school and my school (specifically the people from leadership) banned the national anthem from being sung at rallies because it’s “racist and outdated”. It’s on many news stations and many people are furious about it and our school president even received many death threats from strangers!

Do you think it was okay for my school to get rid of the national anthem??
