Am I over thinking it? all cried out...

Cher

My husband and I have been married of five years now and together for a total of ten. In the beginning sex was great. We got married and relocated because my husband was in the military. Last year he admits that the reason we haven't had kids yet is because I've gained too much weight (15-20 lbs) since we met. He said it went downhill after we got married. I acknowledged that i did gain weight, which made me self conscious. Beginning of this year he complains about not having enough sex. I've made more of an effort to get in the mood and getting off birth control definitely helped. Tonight he says that he notices some good changes in my body because of my exercising but that I'm still overweight and he's not attracted to me. He still loves me but i know he'll resent me or leave me if I dont lose all the weight. I'm working on it and trying, but I'm not getting the results he's expecting quickly enough. I'm afraid having kids with him will just make the situation worse, but at this rate there's no hope of even conceiving. I'm 35 and not getting any younger. What makes me feel worse is I'm currently unemployed which justifies why I should have time to work out more. We still love each other, but I don't know how to move forward. Has anyone been in this situation? What did you do? What would you do? TIA! UPDATE - We talked again this morning and he says he is attracted to me but that he wants me to lose the weight because the extra weight has altered my mindset. I get self conscious and dont let him take off my shirt, or the lights have to be off and I'm ashamed when he rubs my belly... so it doesn't allow him to be spontaneous when it comes to sex. I guess that makes sense. He does want me to do it for me so I feel more confident, but Im worried about being back to square one when I gain weight during pregnancy. Again, probably just overthinking it. 😕
