Cutting out unhealthy food

Has anyone had success cutting out white bread/sugar/bleached flour?

I've always heard about it but I've never actually tried dieting (other than starving myself) and I would like to give it a try. I do 100% of my own cooking so I think it would be easy enough to try. Any tips or ideas would be appreciated!

thanks for all your input! I also do the meal planning/shopping and most of the junky food my husband loves I can't stand. as for the "if it's not in the house I can't eat it" mentality.. I've tried that but I work part time in a grocery store so there's a lot of temptation. I'm going to give it a try though!
