REPOST: I think he's lying and ditching me UPDATE 2

I'm reposting because I got a lot of whiplash from my post and wanted to explain, as I was upset/taken back and left details out

So a week or so ago my boyfriend and I were talking about if he would go to the club with me and my roomies for st Patrick's day and he said "sure!" He seemed really excited and then today I reminded him, asking him to make sure he took work off, and he goes "I'm spending it with me family"

A 23 year old man

Spending a drinking holiday

With his family.

Is it just me or does that not add up?

I told him I was okay with it, but almost every time I bring up going out or meeting my friends he suddenly has class, work, or has family plans.

We have been together for a year and he talks about marriage, but I can't marry a guy who won't even take me out!

EDIT:

My friends and I are under age and are just going to dance, he's partied before and drinks, he's not Irish, and doesn't even like his family. He always comes up with last minute excuses. I'm not upset because he wants to see his family, I'm upset because he always sees his family after we've made prior plans. It's not selfish to want to go out with a guy whose never taken you anywhere before, or want to have him meet your friends.

When I say talked about it like me and him planned it out and he seemed pretty excited to go. Maybe he is uncomfortable meeting my friends, but I always talk about them and he really likes them. He's always saying how stressed he is and I thought this would help him relax. The only time I ever see him is too have sex, so it seems very fishy to me.

UPDATE:

I talked to him about meeting my friends and he opened up that's he's scared my friends won't think he's good enough for me.

And with the booty call things, he's the one who pushed a relationship, not me, so it doesn't make sense. I firmly do believe he was "blowing me off" because he was so nervous to meet them. I reassured him that they wouldn't do that they wouldn't do that to him
