Turbo tax users- do you pay for upgrade?

For those that use turbo tax, do you pay for the deluxe to get more back? Has it ever given you more back?

I upgrade to import previous years data in cause I'm lazy. As well as for the state filing.

TurboTax made me upgrade this year because of my mortgage deduction and HSA account, it said there were forms that had to be filed that couldnt be utilized under the free version. 
I just bought my house last year so this was the first year i've had to upgrade, but i've always been really happy with the free version in past years. I wouldn't upgrade unless you have to

I’d say only upgrade if you need help with claiming children or utilizing tax deductions.
