“I’d Spank Her If It Wasn’t Frowned Upon”
So this girl I used to work with quit very shortly after I started there because after six years, she finally fell pregnant! Yay!
Anyway, I liked this girl well enough. We have each other on Facebook. Her and her husband come to where I work just about every other day. We talk and catch up, and they go on their way. She posts a lot of political crap on her FB page, but I ignore it and move on, not thinking much of it.
She came in the other morning, she had her baby about two months ago, a beautiful baby girl. She loves her and the baby seems well taken care of. But she’s complained the last couple of visits that her baby fake whines and then stops when she sees her mom. She said it pisses her off because the baby knew what she was doing and only wanted attention. She said that if society wouldn’t frown upon her for it, she’d spank her child.
Remember, said child is only two months old. No one should be thinking about spanking their child that little or laying a finger on them at all!
I’m willing to bet it’s PPD, and I’d ask her to seek help with her husband, but he seems to agree with her! I worry for the child. A lot of the political crap her mother posts is about how to act morally and how to raise children, and her comments have raised concerns with me. Is there anything I fun say or do? I don’t want to overreact either, but I’d rather do that than this baby be harmed.
