Clomid questions

Can you use OPKs on clomid? How accurate are they? Also did the clomid make your periods really heavy and painful. I have PCOS I’m irregular but I always have a period but nothing like this non stop bleeding and cramping filling up pads and tampons. Only on day 2. Never had that. Doing clomid again this month at 100mg because 50mg didn’t work. Hopefully tracking the ovulation helps. Were anyone’s doctors hesitant to start you on metformin if you aren’t diabetic even though PCOS is insulin resistance? TIA
