How can I make weening from breastfeeding easier?

I'm a ftm and my son is 12 months. I'm having a hard time weening him off from breastfeeding. When he wants to nurse just out of comfort I would try to distract him and he would get angry or upset like he's having a tantrum.

Is there a reason why you’re weaning? Babies naturally wean between 2 and 4. If you’re having a hard time maybe it’s because your LO isn’t ready.

Replace on breastfeed with an actual meal/snack. When he asks distract him with an activity. Don't give in.

I just weaned my 12 month from all daytime feedings. We only breastfeed at bedtime now. 
Lots of snacks and distractions are key. Also, if you’re really wanting to do it fast, vinegar on the nipple. They hate the flavor and won’t want to nurse. It only took my daughter one time to taste it and hate it. After that, as soon as she smelled it she didn’t wanna nurse.

I’m right there with you. I don’t want to breastfeed so much, I’m trying to do 1x in the day and on demand at night. It’s been tough. Following a schedule and planning activities helps... still, it’s not as easy as I thought
