31 weeks pregnant and losing mucus plug already?? (tmi)

so a couple days ago I went to the bathroom and noticed some yellow/mucus about the size of a quarter. it's been an on and off thing since it started. my question is, is this normal for only being 31 weeks? with my first I seemed to be further along in the pregnancy. what I've read was, it's normal but labor usually happens a week or two after you start to lose your mucus plug. any and all advice would help. I go to the doctor tomorrow but I thought it would hurt to get some opinions. ❤️❤️
