my story
So back in October of 2017 I had flu like symptoms, body aches, and a nasty outbreak with lacerations.. I didn't know I had hsv-2.
I ended up in the hospital for a week with viral meningitis from Hsv-2. I was so sick that they sent me home with a pic line and iv medication to continue treatment.
I had no idea how I came about getting the virus, my boyfriend of almost a year now hasn't been tested yet and he's the only person I've been with my whole life. I have no bad feelings toward him either if hes positive cuz he didn't know.
I've only had 1 outbreak since the hospital, but am on oral meds for prevention.
The thing that sucks though is that because the virus made it to my blood, I can have relapses of meningitis if my immune system fails. Now every time I get a headache I'm scared I'm going to end up in the hospital again..
I guess this is my cautionary tale.. if you see it feel something out of place, call your doctor, make sure they know your worry and they'll get you in sooner.
