Is my dad right?

I am 21 years old and a big girl, about 300 lbs. I live to jump rope though. It's hard and embarrassing because I jiggle and flop and my boobs go everywhere, but I love it and always have. I told my 8 year old sister that I brought my jump ropes and said we should go jump rope outside together and my dad looked at me funny and started laughing. I asked him what was funny and he said "you jump rope?". I told him yes, and that it's fun. He said " adult's don't jump rope". I said people in the gyms and stuff do it all the time. He said "yeah, people that are in shape and fit and that are working out, not doing it for "fun" (he did air parenthesis) ". This made me feel really bad and like just because I'm fat that I shouldn't jump rope and shouldn't do it for fun. Is my father correct and I should stop?
