When should you start seeing a gynecologist?? I’ve heard when you’re sexually active, but also when you turn 18?

I'm 16 but I've went since I was 15 just so I could go if I ever have any problems down there bc honestly for me it's easier to talk to my gynecologist than to my normal doctor

If you're sexually active you need to go but I believe any young woman should see a gynecologist for general education and to stay on top of their vaginal health as soon as they start having their period. My GYN suggests having an exam before you decide to start becoming sexually active so you can discuss safe sex and ask any questions you may have about sexual health.
