Any new moms having trouble sleeping???

I’m 10 days pp and I’m so emotional. I have trouble sleeping and staying asleep. I probably only get 1-3 hrs of sleep a night. Anyone else dealing with this???

Yeah it’s pretty normal. With baby up all the time to eat and your hormones all over the place, you kind of start to feel like a zombie.

I went through that right at the beginning. My doula gave me really good advice: if you can't sleep, then just rest - read a book, listen to music, have some hot tea. Give yourself permission to not sleep (hard to do when everyone says "sleep while the baby sleeps") Hopefully, sleep will come eventually. For me it just took a few days for hormones to level off

That is pretty normal at only 10 days pp. I felt pretty anxious/emotional and couldn’t sleep well right around that same time. Mostly with my first baby. It did get much better though! I think my hormones must have evened out about a week or two later. Right around 1-2 weeks pp is when the hormones really drop off from being pregnant and mess with you. Try to rest when you can and know that tons of new moms go through the same thing and you’re not alone.
