High blood pressure?

So I went to the doctor on Tuesday, and got called back today to take my blood pressure. THey told me it was 140/80 on Tuesday and I’m 138/80 today. They said it’s a little high and the doctor came in and put me on bedrest for the next 3 days. I’m also having to do some 1 day urine testing for protein urine clearance. My mom and grandma said my blood pressure is not that high. What is high to you guys?

it is on the high end of normal but they also will factor in your baseline. so if you normally run 115/70 then it is quite high for you. plus its good they are being cautious.

I had the same exact numbers and my doctors weren't to concerned. the norm is 120/80. the bottom number is what they watch

No, for me that would not be high. Your systolic is on the higher end, but your diastolic is fine. But it also depends on what your bp is normally, if it's usually much lower those numbers means something else. If you're feeling unsure, could you get a second opinion?

Mine was similar at one appointment and was down to 131/80 by the time I left the dr office. I had to do blood work and the 24 hr urine sample. It ended up being nothing but I’m glad my dr was extra cautious just Incase it was preeclampsia.

You want your blood pressure to be under 120 on the top number and 80 on the bottom. So 140/80 is high and it’s good that they want to monitor you. Preeclampsia is nothing to play around with.

That's like at the borderline , it's not that high but it's slightly elevated (140) .
