If your teenage child got pregnant would you make them have an abortion?

Just making this poll because the other day my mother told me that when she was 13 years old she got pregnant and was forced to have an abortion by her parents. They didn’t listen to her when she wanted to keep it and said she would never have a future with a child so she got a termination but she told me that every year she celebrates the day she had a termination as kind of a birthday for the child just as a reminder and that she still cries over it she’s now 36 she says it was the worst mistake of her life. I don’t believe in abortion and I think parents who force their child in to a termination are mostly thinking how it will make them look to people having a teenager who is pregnant than how it will actaully effect the person carrying the child. But that’s just my opinion what’s yours?

I'm definitely not for abortion but 13 years is too young to have a kid. She was a kid herself. How was she going to. financially take care of the kid? Was she planning on getting a job at 13? Stay if she did get a job that paycheck still won't be able to raise a kid.That baby would have become her parents responsibility. If celebrating every year gives her some type closure then she should definitely do it. Just saying but to each his own.

my mother had me at 15yrs old (not in the U.S.). Thank God, she didn't abort me, she just simply gave me up to have a better life, which she was wise too... turns I do. I'll be grateful for her decision regardless the age or circumstances-- I really don't care. just hoping all is well on her end of the world.  Better to have peace than turmoil.

I would never force my child to get an abortion but I think if someone is old enough to make that decision then they are old enough to take care of the child. That includes financially. I would leave it up to them and let them stay in my home but I would not help with diapers, food or child care. That’s not my job. I am going to raise my children and I 100% expect them to raise their own.

My mom got pregnant at 14 and had me at 15 years old and I am now 22 and she is now 37 and we are super close.  Every time I think about how young she was I remember how lucky I am that she kept me!

well 13 is a bit young.. your body can't handle that kind of traumatic experience. but I'm pro choice and would gladly step up to help any way possible if my child wanted to keep it.

I’m pro life, but I would give my child the option of what she wanted to do and support her. I think it’s cruel to force a child to do otherwise and borderlines abuse.
