Labor length
How long do you have to be in labor until they tell you “failure to progress” and offer you a c section? I am planning on being induced on March 27 due to high blood pressure and baby’ large size. I’ll be 39 weeks. However, I don’t want to be in labor 12 to 20+ hours without any progress and for the baby to be in distress. I much rather have a csection to have the baby out as soon as possible. Is that a choice I make or is it completely up to the doctor? I do not want the Dr to use any tools to assist with birth as well. I know a csection it is a much harder recovery for me, but that’s my choice. Just wanting to know other’s experiences. This is my first pregnancy. Also does cervical ripening hurt?
