belly button ring infected?

I got my belly button ring pierced about 6 years ago. no problems. I am 22 weeks pregnant and put in a maternity ring last week. all of a sudden, the inside of the piercing feels like fire when I move the ring up or down. I've tried saltwater but it still hurts really bad. the ring is supposed to be ptfe plastic. anyone else experience this? what did you do? I don't want to take it out if I can help it but it is getting pretty painful.

I tried these too. Mine got very very uncomfortable and my belly stretching made it sore and red like yours looks. I’d just take it out, I had to and it’s been so much easier (and better) than keeping it in.

I've had mine done for almost 10 years and sometimes when I change it in a hurry, I've cut the inside enough to make it infected. I just clean it like I did when I got it and it goes away but like the other person said, you may be allergic. in pregnancy your skin acts differently then it normally would. I took mine out completely for my pregnancy. it bothered me too much to deal with

I took mine out. The hole never closed. I put the ring in after the baby came.

I had to take mine out when I got pregnant plus my doctor kept yelling at me that I couldn't have it in which I didn't understand why till mine did the same thing. Then 6 weeks after I had my daughter I popped it back in and it went back in like I had a piercing in it the whole time so even if u take it out it should go back one once your baby gets here !
