New dr
Long post-
So I have a 16 months old. I had a great pregnancy with him despite have 2 miscarriages beforehand. No issues at all and I only fined 15 lbs. My OB retired and so with this pregnancy I have someone new. I really liked her at first. I am 9 weeks and had my first Ultrasound a few weeks ago showing a heartbeat and everything. going great with my full panel of blood work beforehand. Before leaving she told me to go to the lab and get more blood work done. I figured it was my thyroid test(I have hypothyroidism) but it was a 1 hour glucose. I emailed her saying I was not doing it that early and last time it made me very ill. She told me they wanted to check for early diabetes because of my weight. I’m not super overweight and I’m actually 20 lbs less than I was when I got pregnant last time. Kinda irritated me. Then she called and told me I needed to start taking baby aspirin to prevent blood clots and miscarriage also because my BMI? Like I said- I’m not skinny but by any means would I say the few extra pounds I carry would be a health issue. I mean I get her concern I guess but it just took me by surprise, as this was NEVER even brought up or a cause for concert last time. I don’t think I want to take it. Anyone experience this or recommended to take aspirin??
