Teaching with Anxiety

Ava

For the most part I’ve found ways to handle my depression and anxiety. Exercise, healthy eating, making time to be with my friends and family. I’ve been getting out and trying new things because I’ve been feeling restless and stuck in a rut of the same same same. But for the most part, I’ve got it under control.

I’m taking a teaching position in the fall as a teacher of a class of two year olds. But I’m concerned. As an assistant now, if my anxiety acts up it’s usually okay for me to be sent home to rest. But as a teacher, how can I teach my own class knowing that as good as I may feel one day, it could take an hour for that feeling to change or that I can have attack out of the blue? How do I deal with that?
