Sex while on period

So my boyfriend and I had sex but I was on my period , but it looked like those days it’s seem like a “light period or spotting ” but next thing you know it looks like I cropped his dick 🙊 I told him don’t look because I didn’t want to freak him out so I cleaned him up a bit and i notice that it smelled like period of course but I asked him if it smelled bad and he said no but I felt embarrassed and never again will I have sex while on my period. We only had sex for 10mins... I think we’ve learn our lesson lol
