Breath of the Wild??

Question

I've been dying to get Breath of the Wild, but I cant decide if I should just go the cheaper route and get a wii U, or if I should go ahead and invest in a Switch... 
I figured I'd get the switch, but my bf thinks the wii U would be more fun because we could get more Mario games and Smash bros to play together too. Also, he doesnt like the tiny joy-con controllers lol, but that's not a dealbreaker for me.
Anyone have a recommendation on which console I should get, and/or if the Switch is worth buying with the game lineup it has so far?

I’d say Switch would be a better option for now. Lots of games are being developed on Switch too, and theres a very small probability new games gonna out on the WiiU.

Switch is definitely worth it! I have one and it’s a rlly cool experience. Plus ik games like smash bros is coming out for it this yr!

They do make other controllers for the switch also. I like that I can take the switch with me and play Zelda wherever I go.  Bf wants to watch TV in the bedroom?  I can play switch in the same room, no prob.

I brought a switch last Friday as Wiiu is pretty much unavailable in nz now and I work at a tech shop so I got a discount 
I find it’s more fun used as a portable console 
I got breath of the wild and it isn’t standing up to the hype but maybe that’s because Mario odyssey is so easy and fun
Go for a switch and just get the other controllers the other games your worried about are getting remastered slowly but in the long run you’ll be better off as the wii u will be coming to an end sooner rather than latter

If your SO is worried about games the new Smash Bros has been announced last week in the Nintendo direct so I advise if you have the money invest in the switch. Also if he doesn't like the controller there's the joycon grip
