ecotopic pregnancy. surgery or medicine?

had brown bleeding for a few days and yesterday I had light pink bleeding and cramping. went it for an ultra sound today and they say its ecotopic. about to get blood tests to see if I am a good candidate for methotrexate. terrified to get surgery. also terrified I will never be able to have a baby. what did you do with your ecotopic pregnancy?

So sorry you have to go through this. I don’t think y get to choose what happens. It depends how high a level your hormones are, how big the foetus is etc. If your levels are low and u are early on u can have the shot, if your levels are high and you are further on you will more than likely need surgery. Mine were over 40,000 and I needed immediate surgery to remove my right tube. I was worried I would have difficulties getting pregnant again but a year later I was pregnant with a baby in the right place.

I am sorry you are going through this right now. I had my ectopic pregnancy removed at the beginning of January. My levels were only 800 at time of surgery but my tube was filling with blood so they had to go in and remove the pregnancy. They originally saved my tube but I eventually had to go back in and have it removed because it was still leaking blood. We are not trying again but we are not preventing pregnancy.

My first pregnancy in July  was ectopic they didn’t detect it in time and my tube ruptured so I needed surgery since I was hemorrhaging internally and right tube removal ... I do believe it was the best decision for me . I got pregnant again in December was looking great until the couldn’t find the baby and I got really sick went to the Er  in February it was another ectopic they just couldn’t locate it until I had surgery turned out the baby had attached in my abdomen just finished my first cycle trying again this month or next ♥️

I had surgery, because my tube ruptured before they knew it was ectopic. How did yours turn out? I feel like having my tube removed was best for me because I don’t have to worry about scarring in that tube possibly causing another ectopic.

Hello everyone,  I had my 1st ectopic pregnancy in 98. I had a partial tube removal. It took 4 year's for me to become pregnant again,  and that ended with a rupture of my right tube. After, 11 years passed; I became pregnant again,  and had a miscarriage.  I waited 3 years to go get tested and found that my left tube has a blockage. So IVF is my only option for an successful outcome.

I ended up with emergency surgery after the pregnancy ruptured within my tube causing bleeding. I also had 2 shots of methotrexate after within 2 weeks after my surgery to drop my HCG levels. I started with 2763 and it took just over 2 months to drop to 0. Good luck love💕

I had surgery at 7 weeks at the time and hcg levels were 13,000 they wanted surgery first to make sure it was an ectopic pregnancy as we all thought I had a mc. I think it depends on whats the best outcome for you and the baby. This happened in jan 2018 for me. Sorry about your ectopic
