Enfamil prosobee infant soy milk. Is it bad to give to babies??

My baby seems to have milk allergy so the doctor recommended using the infant soy formula but I have heard so many negatives on using soy on baby I don’t even know what to believe . I would love to hear your opinions and experiences on using soy formula.

Was told by my son's dietician that soy milk contains high lvls of estrogen and is especially bad for boys. Instead he went on similac hypoallergenic formula. I'd recommend this anytime as  he was born at 29wks and still caught in size despite not having the prem high calorie milk.  This was for intolerance though so not sure if suitable for allergy.

I would choose a goat milk formula over soy, but I'm not your doctor. Just call you doctor and voice your concerns and ask for his advise.

Only thing i'd suggest is to watch for an allergy to soy. Many babies with a milk protein allergy end up with a soy allergy as well because the structure of the soy protein is similar to the milk protein & the body can confuse the two & react the same to both milk & soy. if this happens, your Dr will probably switch you to nutramigen or a similar dairy/soy free formula. My guess is your Dr is having you try this first because it's much cheaper than the specialty formulas.

My dr said my baby was having a milk allergy too. My dr put my daughter on Nutramigen. It’s expensive but really good! My dr said a lot of babies have a milk allergy but will grow out of it. Soy formula tends to dry your babies poop out, making them constipated.

I use that same exact one for my daughter. She is now 8months and never had any problems with it 😊

Your doctor recommended it and you’re coming to an app full of people who aren’t doctors to ask for advise about it? Just use it. If you’re concerned, there are plenty of studies about soy. Look them up and talk to your doctor about them
