Fish or no?

My OB told me no fish during pregnancy at all. This goes against a majority of articles I’ve read and I’m really craving it! Thoughts?

That's COMPLETELY inaccurate information. I can't believe an OB would say that! Limit large fish to once a week (mainly tuna). This is for mercury reasons. And don't eat raw seafood at all. That's for bacterial infections. Other than that, seafood is very good for you

I’ve eaten fish once a week with both pregnancies. Babies are both crazy healthy and doing great. You just have to watch the mercury content.

choose flakey white fish, like alaskan cod or salmon and avoid fish high in mercury, like tuna and swordfish.

It depends on the fish and which country you are in. Lots of healthy fish are pumped with chemicals to make them fatter at fish farms in some countries. In theory they should be great to eat- but they aren’t due to the chemicals. 
I live in Japan and I buy my fish off base to ensure they aren’t pumped with chemicals.
