Does anyone else sleep with their newborn at night?

So I know about the risk of sids, but I’m guilty I sleep with my newborn every night and have since the day he was born he’s 3 weeks and 5 days and I’m going to start transitioning him to sleeping by himself but he’s a mamas boy and sometimes just wakes up because we wants to be held/cuddled is anyone else guilty of this?

I have slept with all 3 of mine and will sleep with my son im about to have now. My second son was premature, his lungs weren't fully developed when he was born. He was in the NICU for two months before we were able to bring him home. When we did, he would sleep on my chest, one night i woke up cause i felt him stop breathing. I was lucky he was in bed with me, because if he weren't, it might have been too late when i finally noticed he wasnt breathing.

I work for child protection and I strongly advise against it. I have seen so many tragedies that’s it’s scary especially when it could have been prevented

Never ever. My daughter's life is never worth risking to me. We've always promoted good, safe sleep habits since day one.

I would sleep with my baby’s the first two months and give them naps in their crib so they can like it there too there’s really nothing bad with sleeping with new horns just be careful

I co slept with my son since he was a newborn (now 17 months) and everything turned out ok. He’s now in his own big boy bed. We put him in there when he was 14 months.

I had a cousin roll over and smother her baby on accident. Nope, my son will never be in our bed while we're sleeping

I follow the recommendation for safe sleep.
I will say; that it is tempting to the point where I used some resources a gal in controversy corner had shared with me dueing a heated debate.
And we are not good candidates for co sleeping.
We have dogs, lots of covers and I flop in my sleep.
We have a bassinet right next to the bed (enough distance where I won’t hit it and covers can’t fall in there)
For families that are incredibly diligent about it and are educated on how to do so safety, more power to you, Id kill to sleep with my kiddo, but for us we cannot do it safely
