Do you get offended when couples are referred to by the man’s full name only?

Do you get offended when couples are referred to as ‘Mr and Mrs *husbands name*’... for example ‘Mr and Mrs John Smith’ ?

I’ve heard it used quite a lot recently, and it always irks me. When my sister had her baby (unmarried) a lot of the congratulations cards were addressed to her and her boyfriend this way. Like she isn’t even married, she just pushed a human out her vagina and the card didn’t even mention her name, just ‘Mr and Mrs Mark Poole’. Also the past two weddings I’ve been to the registrar has announced the new couple by saying ‘I now present Mr and Mrs *husband’s name’, as though the new wife is property of the husband and her entire identity (even first name) is now subsumed with his. 🙄

Anyone else? Thoughts?
