middle name drama?

So our son is due in 2 weeks and my husband wants his middle name to be his dads name who died in 2013. trouble is, my dad died in 2011 and i wanna name him after my dad too. worst part? both names dont flow well together and are too long its such a mouthful ...

they're middle names and we literally almost never call a child by their full name. I gave my daughter 2 namesakes (2 middle names) and she is never called by both. My dad mostly calls her by my grandmas name (one of the middles) but that's it. Just honor them boit's not that big of a deal.

My son has a painfully long name to honor two grandfathers. We never use whole name anyway. He is only 3. He knows his whole name but most people do not.

Are you giving your baby his last name? Did you also take his last name? 
If any of these is true, then you should at least get to choose the middle and first names for the baby. 
If you guys have been equal so far, then I would flip a coin 😊
My dh was named by his dad for both first and last names, and he is an only child. Both his names are awful and traditional to his father’s  homeland, which isn’t where he/his mother grew up. I always think his mom (who was a high power executive!) should have negotiated better.

Well, you could be dealing with all the grandpas wanting their names in there. Then they have absolutely awful names like Michael Otis, Ola Gene, Allen Gene, and yet another Ola. 
We already told them their names are not getting thrown in there.
