Advice please!!!!!

So I have court against my sons father on Thursday. I’ve been in abusive relationship with him for 3 years I finally called the cops he gave me a black eye. He’s on probation so for me calling the cops it’s a violation which means he can get 5 years that is my only dilemma of the whole thing. His whole family is harassing me about it but he has also denied his son to girls hasn’t helped me with anything. He will post pictures of his daughter (from another girl) but none of his son. So basically he is a horrible person and father to my son. But I just feel like I don’t have the heart to send him to prison for that long but I know I need to. Has anyone else been through this? Any advice on how to stay strong?
