do you love your baby yet?

I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my second. I felt this way with my first as well but after I delivered her I completely 11000% fell in love.  I care whether my new baby lives or not but I do not feel love or attachment or anything really. I think of the baby as a concept not an actual being yet. I don't know his or her personality or personal traits. I feel like this baby is a random stranger living inside of me. Am I alone?

Nope not alone!! This is my first pregnancy in 24 weeks and sit still feels surreal and baby feels more like a concept or idea rather then real.. it’s hard to explain.. but yeah I know what you mean.. I feel my baby girl moving everyday now and it still doesn’t feel real..

with my first, I loved him when he was just a little ball of 16 cells. with this pregnancy, it had to grow on me. I've gotten more and more excited. it's felt more real to me and less like a stranger since I found out I'm having another boy.

I feel the exact same way! I just feel like I don’t ha e any emotional connection. I know I will love him like crazy when I meet him, but don’t have an insane connection with my bump.

Nope. totally normal. this idea that we are supposed to be super in love with our babes while still pregnant is a relatively new idea that came around due to the overuse of ultrasounds to look in at baby.

i feel like it's a concept too.  we were out with friends who have a 6 month old girl and i was staring at her... like I'm going to have a little mini me person in 3 months? ... that's bizarre... we tried actively for this baby for 6 months so I'm getting what i wanted,  it's just since I've never popped out and cared for a human life before,  its extremely surreal and hasn't hit me yet

I felt this way with my daughter. It took a few months after she was born to feel any sort of bond. With my boys there was always an instant connection. I think a lot of it had to do with losing my son and wanting another boy. But she's my everything and more. Your not alone momma ❤

I’m there with you 🤷🏼‍♀️ I know my baby is stubborn just cause of how he acts during ultrasounds. Other than that I don’t have a bond/attachment to him like others do with their unborn babies. Everyone has cutesy nick names and talks about how loved and special their babies are and I’m just like ehhhh. I don’t think there is anything wrong with it. I’m positive once he is here I’ll be obsessed with him but right now it doesn’t really sink in that I’m pregnant and there is a baby on the way.

You’re not alone. I’m 25 weeks and feel the same. I know I’ll love him. But when I think about him now I don’t feel anything towards him yet. It’s so weird because I see all these women talking about how in love with their unborn babies and I wish I felt that, but I don’t.
