My birth story

Tamara

Hello. Here is my beautiful baby girl Stella at 12 days old. She was born 3/4/18 by emergency c section. On 3/2/18 , the night before my baby shower. I was 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant. My husband, step daughter and I were at the hall setting up. I notice my breathing was hard and I had to sit a lot. I was not moving any thing but even walking was hard. On the ride home my breathing was so unbearable I had my husband pull over and I decided to go to my local er. I was so scared I called 911 on the way. I talked to dispatch the whole time. I made my husband run through red lights and stop signs. He pulled up to the er door and I ran in with the energy I had left. I told the desk I was pregnant and could not breathe. We were so lucky there were no other people in the er. It was also a snow storm. I made it to a room with enough time to tell them I was passing out on the hospital bed. All I remember is seeing them cut my clothes. I did wake up until 12 hours later at another hospital at a local city that I was transferred to by ambulance. My husband and family were there waiting for me to wake. The doctor stated I was diagnosed with preeclampsia and pericardiomothy (heart failure due to pregnancy). I was in a bed with a breathing tube. The only solution was to have my daughter early to get better. She was suppose to be due April 11th. I knew she had to come. It was the best decision for both of us. I was in the ICU and postpartum floor for a week and she was in the NICU for only 9 days. Which was a blessing. We came home and so glad we are so much healthier. There was truly something or someone watching over us. Now we will have a baby shower with Stella there ❤️
