My boyfriend of about 6 months, which I live with, still talks to his ex girlfriend daily. We’ll call him Jacob and her Heather. They were together for almost 4 years and they broke up because they could never get married due to her family. She is Kurdish and a Muslim, so she is only aloud to be with other Kurdish and Muslim people. Since Jacob is not those things, she never told her family they were together. Also, in Heather’s religion you’re not supposed to have sex before marriage. Well they did, and if Heather’s family ever found out, let’s just say that everyone involved could die, including me.

Heather doesn’t know I’m with Jacob now because she is still madly in love with him, even though it’s been over a year since they broke up. She is super crazy and possessive, and she has a key to our apartment.

Jacob says that he only talks to her so that she doesn’t tell her family everything that happened, and so that she doesn’t come to our house and freaks when she sees me. Jacob thinks that if they keep talking then one day she’ll just stop and let him go, but I feel like that’ll never happen. The way he talks to her isn’t like a loving couple texting or anything, more like texting a friend. They text and call everyday.

What do you think of this situation because I’m really not sure what do. I’m upset that they still talk, but I don’t want anyone to get hurt if they stop. I’ve thought about leaving him but if I do I’ll be put in a bad personal situation. I’m so sick of feeling this way, PLEASE HELP.
