Packing My Childhood Stuffed Animal in Hospital Bag for Comfort?

FTM here! My due date is still a ways off, but today I was thinking about things I might wanna pack in my hospital bag, and it occurred to me that I want to bring my favorite (and I should clarify, at this point in my life, my ONLY 😂) stuffed animal! I’ve had this stuffed animal for over 20 years now. I know it’s bizarre and that I’m a 26 year old grown ass woman, but I still sleep with her every night, and she’s STILL a major source of comfort for me (not sure what that says about me psychologically-speaking, but whatevs!) I feel like she’s been through so much with me, and I don’t wanna go through labor without her, but I’m worried the hospital employees will give me weird looks! 😂 Should I bring her anyway?

Go ahead! I really wanted to take this blanket I’ve had since I was a baby. My grandma made all of us grandkids blankets when we were babies and I ADORE this blanket. Well my niece wanted to borrow it because she loved my blanket so I caved and told her she could (I mean, who can resist that face?)

Well when i saw my sister next she “forgot” the blanket and I never got it back. I went by her place to get it and I couldn’t find it anywhere and she had no idea where it was. I was, and still am, so pissed off at my sister for it, since she said she would make sure I got it back the next day. If I still had it, I definitely would’ve taken it to the hospital with me. And it would’ve really came in handy because even with 3 warm blankets I was still shivering after I gave birth, and that blanket would’ve kept me so warm lol. If you have something that comforts you, take it! Just be careful not to leave it in the bed while you’re giving birth, or it may get very dirty!

I'm bringing my bear.  Ive had her since I was born and still snuggle her when I'm sick or in pain.  She's a comfort to me and always has been. I'm 25 years old, married to a marine corp combat vet, with a degree in psychology, and if anyone thinks less of me I can explain that during a painful and stressful time any source of comfort, especially something that you have used as a comfort for an extended period of time physically relieves stress which you can actually map. And if that doesnt convince them my husband will kick thier butt.

It's comforting! Of course you should bring it! Just be careful that it's placed somewhere it won't get dirty - like you might not want it to be near you during pushing.
