Are you guys giving the pacifier?

With my son I waited a few weeks because I wanted him to get the hang of breastfeeding.   and honestly it's been such a lifesaver!!! it calms him down and puts him to sleep so smoothly. He's 18 months now and still uses it. 
Not sure if I should give it to my March '18 baby. because my son loves his and I know it's going to be hell if I try to take it away. Do I want to repeat the same??

I gave my son a pacifier because it can possibly reduce the risk of SIDS. But he spits it out as soon as he falls asleep so that kinda defeats the purpose 🤦🏼‍♀️

My oldest daughter is 17months & still uses her pacifier! But she’s been using it since the hospital Day 2 lol but thankfully didn’t have any breastfeeding issues & was breastfed up until a week after her birthday. With my youngest daughter, whose a week old today, has refused the pacifier all week I attempt to give it to her on separate occasions but she just doesn’t seem to budge lol I wish she would though I know how much it comforts my eldest but I’ll have to find different ways to comfort baby Chloe.

My first son we offered one to and he hated it and never really took one. 
Fletch is about to be 3 months old (3 weeks corrected) and LOVES his. He's a very tactile Bub and wants to have some kind of sensory comfort constantly so it helps a ton otherwise I'd never be able to put him down. It also helped with him learning to suck to feed with being prem.

Our first child had it until he was around a year and a half, and this child will too if she wants it/takes it. I see nothing wrong with it as long as you take it away before it starts to effect their teeth.

I said the same about my new baby - my daughter is 3 and still takes one to bed. But second night in, I started giving my baby a soother because she wanted to suck all night and I needed my rest too!! I say do what you’ve gotta do - your new baby may not even like one.

We started my son at 3 weeks old and he used it until he was about 2 (he’ll be 3 in July). My daughter is 2 weeks old today and I decided to try a pacifier now because she is nursing well and gaining weight, but sometimes can be hard to soothe when she gets tired. Today is the first day we’re trying and she takes it sometimes but often will spit it out. We’ll keep trying but I’ll respect her if she doesn’t want to take it.
