Thirteen Reasons Why-Insult or Statement?
So I’ve watched the show and I know it was meant to bring sensitive subjects out of the light but as a depressive and having attempted suicide a few times I found it insulting and against the national suicide prevention website’s code. It romanticized suicide, and the fact that Hannah killed herself to tell a story was irking as well. That’s not why people kill themselves. They do it because they’ve lost all hope. It kind of seemed like it just promoted self-harm as a way to get attention and romanticized and dramatized the whole thing. I know it was supposed to spread a message but it kinda failed for me. If you selected “other” will you please explain or say why? I want to hear everyone’s views because I feel as if I’m being narrow-minded. Thanks everyone! ❤️💜💚
