My 10 pounder is here!

Meagan

My sweet Lillian Margaret arrived 3-14-18 at 1:10pm by c-section after 2.5 days of labor. I was trying for a VBAC and had a very patient doctor, but my big ole baby just wasn’t going to come out the old fashioned way! Contractions started in the morning on the 12th after doing the miles circuit the evening before. Contracted all day at home and my membranes ruptured around midnight that night, so we went in. Labor stalled and started all day and night, my dr inserted a balloon catheter to dilate me and it got me from a zero to a 6 by the evening. The contractions were strong and painful until I opted for iv pain meds and slept for a few hours. I got pitocin early on the 14th and contractions were STRONG and painful and I got an epidural about 10am, but baby never moved down which is why we opted for the repeat cesarean. I still have mixed feelings about the birth but I’m happy my body went into labor on its own and I’m happy I had a dr who allowed me every chance at a VBAC.

She was 10 lbs 1 oz and 22 inche

s long. I still don’t even know how she fit in there lol.

She’s almost 3 weeks now and while a bit colicky, she’s perfect.
