gel manicures?

I haven't painted my nails in so long because what's the point lol, they chip the same day I do them and I'm constantly having to use my hands for dishes, laundry etc... my question is are gel manis worth it and the price? how long do they typically last?? and any photos are welcomed😁

I do my own gel. If you file the surface of your nail and brush some alcohol on top to remove any oils it sticks better. Love gel. I threw out all the other regular lacquer.

I used to get gel manicures but they wouldn’t even last 2 weeks without chipping, so I started getting dip powder manicures. It lasts so much longer 4-5 weeks and rarely chips. I would ask your salon about it! I’m obsessed!

Before I was pregnant, I used to treat myself to gel manicures every two weeks, with elaborate designs at a Japanese nail salon here in NYC. Definitely worth it as my nails grew so much and the polish would last, even stretched it to 1 month while on vacation. Sadly I haven’t since I got pregnant and don’t even paint my nails now, my nails look like I work construction 😂 Here’s pics of my favorite ones!

So I like gel for acrylic nails, otherwise when I used it on my natural nails it started chipping and peeling in a couple days.

I ordered Gellen products from Amazon around Christmas. Lasts forever and well worth the price.

I have my own machine and supplies and I do my gels all the time. I love it. I don't have to worry about them chipping and my nails always look gorgeous. A gel machine is $20 on Amazon and the supplies are like $40-50 total maybe. So it saved me tons of money
