Is my boyfriend a jerk?

On the way to my place, he wanted me to hold his food but I had to put my belt on so I put the bag in between my legs.

He immediately took the bag and said “Hellllllll nahhhh. What were you thinking? You’re on your period”

Then he started mumbling stuff like “Doing that shit with my food..”

I was silent the entire ride, so he asked me why I’m quiet and I told him it was because he was rude. He went on about how he wasn’t being rude at all...
