Should parents face legal charges on this matter

I was reading a story about a rapper who is being sued for unpaid rent to a house he was renting but the owners are also suing his 5 year old son because he put his sons information on the lease like a co signer and the owners have to sue the parties involved

I remember my dad did this to my brother when he was 8 he used his social and put some bills under his name and messed up bus credit

Now this little 5 year old boy is potentially having his credit ruined if the owners of the house win the case
