What was your experience with laughing gas?

I have an extreme phobia of dentists and if I had my way (and thousands of dollars) I would just use IV sedation for everything. However my dentist has started offering free laughing gas. Has anyone used that for a tooth extraction or root canal? And what was your experience like? Thanks!

First they tried to give me three shots of  novocaine and it wasn't working on me.  Then they tried laughing gas, and it didn't work on me either. I felt everything . They didn't believe me until I started shaking because I was in so much pain. Luckily whatever I was getting done lasted for about 30 minutes so I didn't die like I thought I was going to😂 However,  all the effects of the novocaine hit me like 4 hours later and I was one loopy child.

I had it for a root canal and two wisdom teeth extractions and it was pretty cool, I mean I felt the anesthesia needle a few times but nothing bad, it made me feel like happy and sleepy lol.

I always have mine pretty low, because I don't like the feeling of not being in control of my body, so I don't want the loopy/floating feeling, just enough that I don't care what's going on, it's probably more of a placebo effect lol

I loved it i had them turn it up quite a bit and i inhaled as deep as possible and exhaled as long and slow as possible make sure the nose piece has a good suction against your nose close your eyes relax just focus on your breathing if you feel like youre floating and your body is all bubbly youre doing it right lol ive had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at once and went back for a molar extraction a few weeks later both with gas and had no issues if you do feel any pain at all please please tell them they will stop asap and either adjust the gas or give you more numbing jelly or novicane there are going to be moments you will feel pressure thats ok and normal but sharp pain is not i go to a dental school where the students are the ones doing everything the teachers are only there to monitor progress for the students and so far ive had an amazing experience i go every few weeks for fillings it does take longer though since they are students but the quality is good
