solids?

Has anyone with a November 2017 baby started solids yet? My baby seems interested in food, holds her head up and sits up for long periods of time in her walker. I'm sure shes ready to start solids but shes only 4 months and 3 weeks old. Should I wait? I called her pediatrician and the earliest I can get an appointment for her is after 10 days. What should I feed her if her doctor gives me the ok?

My pediatrician gave us the green light for solids at her 4 month appointment. We have just tried baby oatmeal made with breastmilk and a couple of puréed foods. Carrots have been her favorite so far and she HATED green beans.

I’m waiting until 6 month! I want to do baby led weaning and one requirement is for them to be 6 month old. Look up open gut before 6 month! My baby seems interested, but he is still satisfied by the breast milk, so why risk allergies and stuff?

My fattie won't eat baby food. She wants "real" food. She had her first try of mashed sweet potato last night and loved it, gagged only once. The watery baby food she will just spit out. She will be 5 months on the 17th. She begs worse than the dogs for food when we eat. Fyi, my Dr told me this with my son when he was a baby, gagging helps them learn how to eat. As long as it's a small gag and they easily correct it then its fine and no need for intervention.
Once we get a high chair I will be letting her feed herself most of the time with her hand and at the end feed her the rest she didn't get in her mouth with a spoon.

This is what I got at my baby 4 months appointment. The dr told me I have to give her the food in that order. And at 6 months, he will give me a list to start introducing meat.

We started with rice cereal! Did that for about 2 weeks once a day. Then we added puréed vegetables once a day. We started week one with peas and squash, then tried carrots and green beans the next week. This week we will try sweet potatoes and maybe even add a little banana to flavor her cereal! Pediatrician did recommend start with veggies before introducing fruit.

My little guy started with rice cereal just before 4 months. He started to sit up like. Crazy. So he started with a little rice cereal in the evenings. We have recently started to add either a fruit or veg purée with it. It has made such a difference with the spit up and he is a lot more settled in the evening. He only has 1-2 table spoons and I am amazed at the difference it has made. He was showing all the signs of readiness and took to the food instantly and never really spat anything out. He behaved like it was a couple normal thing to do.
