I’m currently 6 weeks 4days pregnant, l was diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage when i started spotting brown with mild cramps, then it quickly became cherry red blood with no cramps today being 11 days of spotting it finally stopped. I had no idea what was going on I was scared nervous and worried but I also had to make sure I wasn’t stressing myself out so my DH would help me take my mind of things. Because I was diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage my doctor had me on bed rest And progesterone for one week. She did a exam and did an ultrasound at 5 weeks 6days. She said that the spotting was normal and my cervix was completely closed and she seen no blood where the sac was growing. The sac measured 6weeks and the baby measured 5 weeks 6day. Today I would be 6 weeks and 4days and the spotting has finally stopped no cramping so here I’m excited to tell her the good news. Well she did an ultrasound and she could find the sac but the baby and the sac still measured the same 6weeks. She said I’m having an blighted ovum. Which she explained, the sac grows but no baby developes. I didn’t know much about this because it’s my first pregnancy I came home and did a little research. Im still confused if she seen a tiny fetus at 5 weeks and 6days would that be considered blighted ovum? Is it maybe too early to rule out an blighted ovum? I’m going to wait til I’m 8weeks to go back. She wants me to get myHCG levels checked out and if they are low she wants me to take a pill to abort. Any feed back or stories about blighted ovum would help me out a lot to try and understand it more.
