Padsicles/witch hazel?

Hi ladies! 
I read online that these “padsicles” are a must-do for my lady bits postpartum. When I was showing my mom the things I bought for them she asked if Witch Hazel is a good idea because it contains 14% of alcohol.... has anyone ever made these and does the alcohol make your lady bits burn? I just want to make sure I’m buying the right things and not going to cause any added pain to my potential stitches. 
This is the witch hazel I’ve bought and I want to make sure it’s the right stuff. 
Are these things really that great? Are they worth making?

I planned to make these but then my child birth class nurse recommended Tucks pads because they give those in the hospital. Best. Things. Ever. I bought them at Walmart and saved myself the trouble lol

It's wayyy easier to just stuff ice in a newborn diaper for an ice pad! Takes two seconds, no mess, and feels awesome! Witch hazel pads are great too, my nurse showed me how to layer them on my pad and it was a great cooling relief.

I made padcicles and honestly they were a goopy mess. I used way too much aloe vera... and it was just soggy and gross. However the answer to your question is witch hazel a godsend... it doesn’t hurt and the hospital actually will give you a bunch of witch hazel pads to use. I asked for an extra box when I was leaving and they gave me more and then I ended up stopping using the padcicles I’d made and just dowsing pads in witch hazel that I kept in the fridge after the first day or two. Witch hazel is 🙌🏼 if you do decide to make padcicles take it super easy on the aloe vera is my advice

Get really big pads and skip the aloe. It was super messy and froze solid instead of staying a gel = super uncomfortable. Really nice otherwise for being newly out of hospital

I put some witch hazel on a large over night pad and froze them. Felt good and definitely helped. I also had some type of spray they gave me at the hospital- it helped a lot but I’m not sure of the name.

I would skip these, the aloe freezes solid and it is highly uncomfortable digging into your freshly birthed lady parts lol I honestly just used the tucks and the spray the hospital gave me or a regular gel like ice pack over my sweat pants

First, I found padsicles to be quite uncomfortable. I prefer perineal cold packs! I do use witch hazel pads though and they are amazing. If you're worried about the alcohol you can get brands with no alcohol, but I used cheap store brands with my first few kids so I'm sure they were cut with alcohol and they still felt like magic. :)
