Can your baby use a fork/spoon?

Like even if it’s messy. Do they know to scoop up the food and put it in their mouth? 
We did BLW and my baby is struggling to use a spoon now 🤦🏼‍♀️

My daughter can put the fork and spoon in her mouth, but I usually pick up the stuff for her with a spoon or fork. I hate when she makes a mess when eating so I know it’ll be a bigger mess with picking up the food 😫

My daughter picks up the spoon and puts it in my hand so that I’ll feed her

She knows how to and will for one or two tries but then throws it and eats with her hands again lol

We haven’t actually tried but I just know he wouldn’t do it. He’s just not a big self-feeder. 🤷🏻‍♀️ it’ll happen eventually.

Same here with BLW. We’re having a hard time with utensils now! 😂 but I found this spoon I’m going to try! It just seems a lot more natural

Sometimes I'll give my son a fork or spoon. He mostly he just jabs at the bowl with it and then uses his hand to take any food off the utensil to actually eat it. 
I spoon feed him oatmeal like twice a week still and he usually starts feeding himself with his hands after 1/3 is done.

My son is very messy but he doesn’t like us to feed him anymore. He will favor his hands typically but can use a spoon and loves cereal with soy or ripple milk.
