Confused. And worried

I stopped taking birth control pills for about a week over spring break because i couldnt get around to refill them, i decided to wait until the next week to continue them, doing so resuming them led onto no problems. But i had unprotected sex ( i know i know. Stupid). But took other precautions and i had been back on the pill for two weeks (again i know protection is best but we were caught in the moment and didnt have any on us) and he never came. I started spotting about 6 days after and now its pretty heavy. I dont know how much bleeding happens during implantation bleeding. Which is whats making me freak out. And it seems like im getting my period. But ive never had my period come early while being on the pill. Could i be overreacting, or have reason to be worried about? PLEASE HELP
